Beer for Every Palate, Every Day

One of the best things about the rise of real beer is the return of small, local breweries. Here at McLeod's, 'small' and 'local' go hand-in-hand with quality and variety.

This is evident in our winning the Champion New Zealand Medium Brewery 2024 award, adding to our previous win in 2021, and our first-ever Champion New Zealand Beer for Tropical Cyclone Double IPA.

From our year-round range to our mixed fermentation and barrel-aged Smugglers Bay Collection, we make good beer for every palate, every day.

Our fans are as diverse as our brews, so our beer is delicious and balanced whatever the style. Find out more about each one by clicking on the bottle or tap badge below.

Here's to enjoying our beer in your little slice of paradise!

Year-Round

Well Crafted | Steady On

Is good beer ever out of season? Our collective, biased voice says, ‘No.’ Yet it does seem that while some months beg for crisp, chili pilsner, others seem to limp along without something bold, dark and decidedly imperial in a glass. We understand. Our seasonal range is a chance for our brewery team to flex their creative muscles and have a play. And who doesn’t like to play?

Seasonal Releases

Innovative | In Season

There’s a reason for the tried-and-true, perennial styles that make up the heart of our roster: they’re everyday beers that transcend the ‘everyday.’ Never plain, definitely balanced and always drinkable. You know quality when you taste it. Think of these as the 'core with more,' and you’ve hit the mark.

Smuggler's Bay Collection

Barrel-aged | Time Travelers

Our Smugglers Bay Collection answers the age-old question: what happens when good beer ages in good barrels? Add a thread of microflora or lactic acid bacteria to the mix (sometimes) and you start to understand these beers. Whether it’s our medal-winning Black Rye Sour Ale or Bourbon-barrel Aged Milk Stout, each is made with an eye on pushing boundaries whilst keeping drinkability at a maximum. These beers have been known to bring out the miserly in those who relish, collect and tuck away. We absolutely condone this behaviour.
